Teacher: Cindy Mallen

I began teaching pre-school almost right after high school. So I have been teaching off and on for over 22 years. When I wasn’t teaching, I was at home with my own children doing home daycare. My education began my senior year of High School I took Careers with children at Westchester High School. I have taken Early Childhood Education courses at El Camino College, West LA College and Orange Coast College over the years. I have 27 units in E.C.E. But honestly my education and experience with children began way earlier. My parents were very young; I was the oldest and just naturally always took care of all the younger children. I began babysitting at age 11 for all the neighborhood children.

My daughter is a graduate of WPNS. During the last year of her preschool experience, if not before, I began teaching as a substitute there. Not only did I fill in for working parents, but also for the staff. I truly enjoy working with children of all ages and always have. Children are so loving and open. They teach me something new everyday.
