Where We Learn

Westchester Parents Nursery School is composed of three rooms and a playground. Children have lots of room to both work and play.

The Main Classroom provides puzzles, table toys, puppets, a book corner and a coloring area.

The Drama Room accommodates dramatic play and dress-up, and includes a child-sized workbench, a doll house and a kitchen area

The Discovery Room offers opportunities to build (using blocks of various styles), to create marble mazes, and to experiment with science.

The Playground provides outdoor time and exploration. The Playground includes climbing equipment, water play & discovery tables, painting easels, a sandbox, and an area for gardening. The children also have the option of riding bicycles in a secure bike area.

As well, art projects are set up daily in our outdoor breezeway.

Parents Learn Too!

WPNS is a cooperative nursery school. Along with the teachers, parents are the staff.

While participating on your work day, you will...

• Have time to enjoy and observe your own child in a loving environment.
• Increase your understanding of the developmental needs of children.
• Learn parenting techniques for handling children at school and at home.
• Share experiences and concerns with other parents.
• Meet others in the community.
